Our specialized Dementia and Alzheimer's day program in Richardson, DeSoto, and Plano includes:

🩺 University nursing students on staff daily, medication management, and health monitoring (blood pressure, glucose, oxygen, weight)

🎨 Engaging activities, word and trivia games, arts and crafts, daily sing-alongs, live musical entertainment, and therapy dog visits

🧠 Mind-fitness activities and exercise twice a day to support memory and mobility

🍽️ Fresh, on-site meals reviewed by a licensed dietitian, plus snacks and hydration throughout the day

🤝 A social and medical model of care with a 1:5 staff-to-member ratio

🎖️ VA benefits accepted for eligible veterans, plus long-term care insurance

Here's a little permission slip for the caregivers out there: taking time for yourself is one of the best things you can do for the person you love.

When you get a real break to rest, run errands, or just enjoy a quiet cup of coffee, you come back with more patience, more energy, and more of you to give. Everybody wins.

And here's the happy surprise: those hours are a gift for your loved one too. A day at Friends Place means friendship, music, favorite activities, a hot lunch, and university nursing students keeping a caring eye on things, while you get a little time to recharge.
