While raining the October 4th Northampton Day Festival was led off at 10:00a.m. with a flag raising by the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 with Lisa Garner singing the National Anthem and the Council Rock HS South Choir singing God Bless America.

On Friday, September 18, 2026, there was a road dedication ceremony in honor of U.S. Air Force Capt. Walter H. Sigafoos III. This road dedication ceremony took place at 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro. PA.Rep. Kristin Marcell hosted the dedication ceremony naming a portion of Second Street Pike in honor of Capt. Walter H. Sigafoos III, a Richboro native and U.S. Air Force officer who went missing in action during the Vietnam War. The ceremony took place on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, adding special significance to the tribute.
Participating in the ceremony along with Representative Marcell were: Patriot Detachment 1230 Marine Corps League doing the Color Guard, Tiffany Dydak McKearnys dinging the Anthem and God Bless America. Kiel Sigafoos leading the Pledge of Allegiance, Rev. Doug Dwyer opening prayer, remarks by Kathy Fitzpatrick, Senator Frank Farry, Congressman Brian Fiotzpatrick, Al Sigafoos and Rev, Ryan Sweet for the closing prayer.
Capt. Sigafoos disappeared on April 25, 1971, after the F-4 Phantom he was serving aboard crashed in Laos near the Ho Chi Minh Trail. He remains the only Bucks County service member still listed as missing in action from the Vietnam War. The ceremony honored his service, his sacrifice and the enduring impact his disappearance has had on his family and community.

At the Detachment meeting of 9/16/2026 Marine Corps League Dept. of PA awarded the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 its 2026 page Recognition.
Presented by Department Sgt. at Arms Robert Sundling to Detachment Commandant Mike Clark who in turn presented to Detachment Facebook Administrator Pete Palestina.

A very nice 9/11 remembrance ceremony and flagpole dedication by National Maintenance & Buildout Company and its head John Folz. Thanks to all who attended especially the Patriot Detachment 1230 Marine Corps League who provided the Color Guard and flag raising. Here is a link to the video.

NMBOC invites our neighbors and community to join us for a special 9/11 Flag Raising Ceremony as we commemorate those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and honor the first responders and local heroes who serve our community every day.
The ceremony will also mark NMBOC’s 25th Anniversary and the dedication of our new flagpole, installed as a tribute to our nation, our community and those who protect and serve.

Sad to report that our Marine Veteran friend Harry C. Niemann, III has passed away and reported to the Supreme Commandant on August 13, 2026. Harry was a Paid Life Member of the Marine Corps League Patriot Detachment 1230 based in Richboro, PA from June 29, 2001 to date. May he Rest in Peace
