*** Water Main Construction Update and Reminders ***

This weekend, Easton will continue cleaning up 1st and 2nd Streets East, although curb stops on 1st Street East will remain dug up until the final switchover to the new water mains, which is tentatively scheduled for next Thursday, September 26. Residents on 1st Street East should be prepared for the water to be turned off for most of that day like it was this past Thursday. We will send out a reminder/update about this next week.

On Monday, Easton will begin digging up curb stops on 1st Street West. To avoid causing unnecessary delays and restricting access to curb stops and fire hydrants, please remove all vehicles and other items from Town rights-of-way/boulevards on 1st Street West and on to your private property by Monday morning. As a reminder, because street access to your property could be intermittently blocked during construction, be prepared to access your property from the alley if needed.

For garbage collection, please place your totes either in the alley behind you or on the nearest east-west street (Royal Ave., Elk Ave., Antelope Ave., or Railroad Ave.) to make collection a bit easier. With all the work going on, it is understandable that an occasional pick-up might be missed. If that happens, please call the Town Office at (406) 773-5634 right away so that we can collect your garbage as soon as possible.

There will continue to be partial or full street closures throughout town until the construction work is complete. Please remain cautious, respect all road-closure and construction signs, and avoid active construction areas if at all possible, both for your safety and that of the workers. Thank you!

*** Water Outage Scheduled for Thursday, September 19 ***

The water will be off tomorrow, Thursday, September 19, from 8:15 am to around 4:00 pm to switch the residents on 2nd Street East over to the new water mains.

This planned outage will affect all residents on 2nd Street East and all residents east of 2nd Street East, including those on Antelope Ave.

It is advised that affected residents fill water jugs or bathtubs and take any other necessary steps in advance to ensure you have the water you need tomorrow during the day.

As always, thank you for your patience and consideration during this changeover.

IMPORTANT: Construction and Garbage Updates

WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT — While Easton continues its work on 1st Street East, it plans to begin digging up curb stops on 1st Street West as soon as Thursday. This means there will be partial or full closures on this street until the work is complete. Since street access to your property could be intermittently blocked during construction, please be prepared to access your property from the alley if needed. Beginning next week, Easton will begin digging up curb stops on 2nd Street West, so alley access may be required there as well from time to time. Residents on the WEST side of 2nd Street West, who do not have an alley, may need to enter and exit their property via their backyards if street access is blocked by construction. This is admittedly an inconvenience for those residents, so we especially appreciate your understanding and expect that these interruptions will be very temporary.

PAVING ON RAILROAD AVENUE — Wharton Asphalt has begun repairing Railroad Ave. between Main Street and 1st Street East and expects the job to last a couple of days. During that time, Railroad Ave. will be closed between Main Street and 2nd Street East.

GARBAGE PICK-UP — You can set out your garbage totes in their normal locations while construction is underway, and G&G has been informed that this will be the case. If you are so inclined, you may move your totes to the nearest east-west street (Royal Ave., Elk Ave., Antelope Ave., or Railroad Ave.) to make collection a bit easier. With all the work going on, it is understandable that an occasional pick-up might be missed. If that happens, please call the Town Office at (406) 773-5634 right away so that we can collect your garbage as soon as possible.
