Pooletown Fire Department will have its annual meeting Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 6:30 pm at Station 69 at 255 Richfield Rd. Anyone residing or owning property in the Pooletown Fire District is welcome to attend.

We’re thankful to receive a $38,600 grant from the NC Office of State Fire Marshal to help purchase needed equipment for our department. Support like this helps us continue serving and protecting our community safely and effectively. Thank you to everyone who supports Pooletown VFD.

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, at approximately 10:59 a.m., officers with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission requested emergency crews to respond to the Tuckertown Reservoir regarding an overturned boat and missing fisherman.

Responding personnel located the vessel and later recovered the fisherman, who was found deceased. The individual has been identified, and next of kin has been notified.

On behalf of the Pooletown Fire Department, our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

The incident remains under investigation by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

⚠️ EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 3/28/2026⚠️

During a burning ban, fire pits, yard debris/waste fires, and campfires are considered
open burning. However, approved cooking devices on approved surfaces, such as grills
and barbecues, are permitted.

As much as we love our Gravity Hill folklore, legend has it that if you put too much flour on your car, you only end up with a dirty car! Likewise, the piles of flour in front of our bays only causes our station to get dirty. Help us out - make your cars look like they’re on fire over in the gravel.

✅Tomorrow is Election Day! If you vote at our fire station, please take note of the traffic cones lining our new concrete pad!! It’s been too wet to finish our grading and there’s a drop off that will ruin your day.
Enter through our new glass walk-in door on the right hand side of the building and cast your ballot for important positions such as county commissioner, clerk of court, sheriff, and senate!
