Happy fall, Richfield! 🍂🎃👻

While any increase sounds ~spooky~ , let's break down the proposed 0.5% sales tax that you'll see on the ballot this election season.

* Non-residents foot the bill: Over 55% of the proposed tax will be paid by non-Richfield residents who shop here.
* The actual cost to you: The average Richfield resident would only shell out about $3.92 per month, or $46.99 per year. That's less than a fancy latte a month! ☕
* And guess what? The local sales tax includes the same exemptions as the state sales tax, including agricultural items, farm equipment, motor vehicles, clothing, groceries, baby products, and feminine hygiene products, and more.

Let's vote YES because our community and future generations deserve spaces that make Richfield great: the Veterans park pool, the community center, and Wood Lake Nature Center.

Did you know?

In 1961, the Space Race 🧑‍🚀 was in full swing, and Yuri Gagarin became the first human to venture into space! Believe it or not, that same year, the Community Center at Augsburg Park was built.

Now, it’s time for an upgrade! Voting 'YES' for Richfield parks in the upcoming general election will fund exciting renovations for a larger, modern community center. Imagine fitness amenities like an indoor walking track, modern kitchens for events, and new spaces for seniors, adults, youth, and family programming.

Our neighboring cities—Bloomington, Minneapolis, and Edina—have already implemented a 0.5% sales tax for crucial infrastructure improvements. Let’s not fall behind in the space race for better community spaces! 🌠🏃‍♀️

The Veterans Park Pool is a beloved community hub, providing a safe and fun place for families to cool off and connect. However, it's aging infrastructure is on the brink of collapse, threatening to make the space unsafe and unusable.

Voting 'yes' for Richfield parks in the upcoming general election will help fund necessary projects, such replacing the pool liner and provide other needed improvments to Vets Park, ensuring that we have the valuable community space available for future generations. 🏊‍♀️

Did you know that the Woodlake Nature Center building was constructed more than 50 years ago? A modernized facility would offer expanded amenities to our community and preserve opportunities to enjoy the local wildlife.
