Amazing man with skills, passion and standing up for rural Utahans. He has given all of rural Utah a voice, helping others understand who we are and our needs. So well deserved!! Congratulations!

If you know Rep. Carl Albrecht, you know he’ll never stop fighting for rural Utah.

For years, he’s championed Utah’s farmers, ranchers, energy producers and rural communities, helping shape policy on water, agriculture, natural resources and energy. His years of advocacy earned him the Rural Legacy Award at this week’s One Utah Summit at Southern Utah University.

Congratulations to Rep. Albrecht on this well-deserved honor and on a career dedicated to strengthening rural Utah.

Where it all started (other than they have a newer building.) Love USU and the path it lead me down. The cyanotype in the video is one of the collections I worked on when I was an intern there studying photography.

They have lots of interesting treasures in there. It’s like going an a treasure hunt. I didn’t know it would lead me down this path when I walked in the door. Now I am the archivist for a small community archive in Sevier County. Sevier County History Hub Gathering treasurers and solving mysteries. Follow our page and YouTube for more information coming soon. We’re just getting started!

Interesting Sevier County record revealed . . .

📜 In 1865, a county doctor was sent to Monroe to investigate what the Sevier County Probate Court described as an "insane case." Instead, he described the woman as "spirited and ambitious," writing that poverty and difficult domestic circumstances had driven her to despair. The county attorney agreed, recommending that the court aid the family because they were "almost in a starving condition."

This entry from the Sevier County Probate Court records reminds us that historical records often reveal stories more complex than their titles suggest. Behind one "insane case" was a family in crisis, and local officials who recognized the need for help. 💛

Calling all Utah college students! The Utah Historical Society is looking for passionate students from all majors and every corner of the state to join our Youth Advisory Council starting September 17, 2026.

Congratulations to our History Hub Partner Miss Mary's Historical Museum in Salina on their new Old Spanish Trail silhouettes installation! Go check out their newly renovated DUP building and all their new items on display.

If you haven’t noticed our newest addition to the museum, swing by and see the new silhouettes! We have a new display on the Old Spanish Trail that came down Salina Canyon. Our display is a work in progress, you are welcome to stop by for a visit.

A big shout out to the Salina City Maintenance Crew for the site preparation and hanging the sign. Daniel Allred did an amazing job on fabrication of the silhouettes and Ryker Johansen the cement work looks fabulous!
