Northern Ohio Public Safety Support Our trained volunteers will deliver this service to agencies without a rehabilitation system or to supplement existing resources when requested.

Northern Ohio Public Safety Support (NOPSS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide essential rehabilitation service, as identified in NFPA 1584, during fires, technical rescues, training exercises, and other operations when requested. Our Mission:
To provide essential on-scene support—at no cost—to public safety organizations during emergencies and training exercises, ensuring responders have access to rest, recovery, nourishment, and hydration. Emergency incidents place extraordinary physical and mental demands on first responders. Many departments lack the staffing, equipment, or logistical capability to provide adequate on-scene rehabilitation. Our fills this critical gap by providing:
• Hydration and nutrition
• Cooling or warming stations
• Rest and recovery areas
• Accountability tracking under Incident Command Rehab Sector guidelines

NOPSS President and Co-Founder Kenny Rybka was able to speak with representatives from the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association and Cleveland Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 8, which represents CPD Supervisors, regarding the services we provide. We look forward to working with both organizations, and others in law enforcement, in the future.

Since going online this year, we have been deployed 16 times to provide Rehab to our local safety forces. We rely on the generosity of others to sustain operations.

Saturday, October 10th, marks the one-year anniversary of the formation of NOPSS.

To commemorate the occasion, we will be participating in an event with Rehab Support 1 that is being sponsored by the Western Reserve Fire Buffs Association, the Willoughby Fire Department, and Firehouse Subs.

The schedule includes:
*11:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Willoughby Fire Department Open House at Station 1 (37000 Euclid Ave).
*12:30 PM: Fire apparatus procession to Firehouse Subs at Willoughby Commons.
*1:00 PM – ?: Apparatus display and lunch at Firehouse Subs. (36161 Euclid Ave).
