Northern Ohio Public Safety Support

Northern Ohio Public Safety Support Our trained volunteers will deliver this service to agencies without a rehabilitation system or to supplement existing resources when requested.

Northern Ohio Public Safety Support (NOPSS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide essential rehabilitation service, as identified in NFPA 1584, during fires, technical rescues, training exercises, and other operations when requested. Our Mission:
To provide essential on-scene support—at no cost—to public safety organizations during emergencies and training exercises, ensuring

responders have access to rest, recovery, nourishment, and hydration. Emergency incidents place extraordinary physical and mental demands on first responders. Many departments lack the staffing, equipment, or logistical capability to provide adequate on-scene rehabilitation. Our fills this critical gap by providing:
• Hydration and nutrition
• Cooling or warming stations
• Rest and recovery areas
• Accountability tracking under Incident Command Rehab Sector guidelines

We would like to thank the Mantua-Shalersville Fire department for inviting us to display our Rehab Unit this Saturday.

We thought we had all the bases covered with hydration and nutrition—until last night's call in Euclid, when a firefighter with a nut allergy was looking for something to eat.

So, we've added some new protein bars to the Rehab Support Unit. They're 100% nut-free, and also vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, organic, and kosher. Just one more way we're working to make sure there's something available for everyone on scene.

The Bainbridge Township Fire Department will be conducting live fire training exercises on June 18, 19, and 20 in the area of State Route 306 and Spring Valley Road.

During these training operations, residents may observe smoke, fire apparatus, and increased emergency vehicle activity in the area. This is a planned training event and there is no emergency situation.

For the safety of our firefighters, training personnel, and the public:

• Access to the training site will be restricted to authorized personnel only.
• Please use caution when traveling through the area, as fire apparatus and support vehicles will be entering and exiting the training grounds throughout the day.
• Do not stop along roadways or attempt to enter the training area.
• For your safety and the safety of our crews, please give firefighters plenty of space to work and remain clear of all operations.

These realistic training exercises are essential in helping our firefighters maintain the skills necessary to protect our community.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we conduct this important training.
