Every week I try to eat breakfast someplace new to me that I can recommend to my campers. Yesterday I went to the Denny's in St.Roberts, MO. After reading the menu. I noticed the statement that stated that all eggs are cooked "well done" because of disease unless ordered differently. I ordered a skillet breakfast with cooked egg whites on top. After receiving my meal, I noticed that the egg whites were still 'raw and slimey' on top. I ate around them until I could get the attention of a waitress. She agreed the egg whites were raw but didn't offer to fix them. So I asked for another plate so I could remove the slimey eggs. I asked to speak to the manager. After 20 minutes the waitress asked if the manager had talked to me. I said 'no' and waited another 10 minutes but no manager. May she was busy cooking somebody else's eggs. I wrote a comment on the back of my ticket and left. I tipped the waitress $2.20 and left knowing I'll never go back or recommend a restaurant that doesn't care about their customers

Insects and bugs are a common sight on camping excursions, and often families worry about bites and safety treatment. Here is a great guide to identify some of our "locals" that may join you here at Brush Arbor.

ATTENTION: this is a primitive property, this campground has not been opened since before 1991 so we have a lot of work to do. The river is deep in some areas, we do not provide a lifeguard. Please be responsible, watch your children and don't act irresponsible. Please be safe. Trails are uneven and may have fallen rocks on them. There are wild animals here: deer, turkey, quail, raccoons, foxes, turtles, snakes, beavers, armadillos, small bears, coyote, ground squirrels, gray and red squirrels, rabbits, owls, groundhogs, opossum, otters, etc. Naturally there will be holes in the ground for homes for critters. Don't get lost in the cornfield. Please watch your steps. Not responsible for accidents or bug bites, falls, poison oak, etc. These grounds are not manicured. We are not KOA or the White House lawn. No intoxication or any behavior offensive or disrespectful to others. We're simple, we're natural, we're raw beauty. We're quiet, we're peaceful, we're Brush Arbor, a shelter in the wilderness not from the wilderness.
