Illegally passing a school bus in Missouri could result in a 90-day driver's license suspension for the first offense or minimum 120-day driver's license suspension for the second and subsequent offense.

⚾️ A Home Run Visit for Richmond Heights PD! 🚔

We had the pleasure of welcoming Jordan Walker, Home Run Derby Champion and right fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, to the Richmond Heights Police Department!

Jordan took time to meet with our officers, share a few laughs, and pose for photos. We truly appreciate his willingness to stop by and show support for law enforcement and the Richmond Heights community.

Strong community partnerships are built through moments like these, and we're grateful for local role models who use their platform to make a positive impact. We wish Jordan and the Cardinals continued success this season and look forward to cheering him on!

CALEA is the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The Richmond Heights Police Department first became CALEA accredited in 2008 and has remained accredited since that time.

In order to receive accreditation, the police department must submit to annual policy and file assessments which are conducted by a client service manager off-site. Every four years, a site-based assessment occurs where CALEA assessors travel to the agency to determine if re-accreditation will be awarded. Each assessment includes reviews of written policies, procedures, actual practices, and inspection of city equipment and facilities. The Richmond Heights Police Department takes our commitment to service and community to the next level. Our vision is to maintain the highest standards of excellence in all facets of policing. The department strives to be considered by our community and our profession as one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the region.

🌧️💦 Rain couldn't wash away your generosity! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by Waterway Carwash and supported our fundraiser for Special Olympics Missouri this weekend!

Even though Mother Nature tried to steal the show with the rain, our community showed up in a big way. We may have gotten a little wetter than we planned, but thanks to your generosity, we still raised a great amount of money to help provide year-round sports training, competitions, and life-changing opportunities for Special Olympics athletes.

We had a great time meeting members of our community, sharing laughs, and proving that police officers don't melt in the rain... although our socks might disagree! 🚔🌧️😄

From all of us at the Richmond Heights Police Department, thank you for supporting such an incredible cause. We truly couldn't do it without this amazing community.

A century may pass but a hero's sacrifice is never forgotten.

Today marks 104 years since the loss of Richmond Heights City Marshal George McCready, who was mortally wounded in the line of duty at Del Norte and La Veta Avenues.

To the Richmond Heights community, he was a protector. To us, he is an enduring reminder of what it means to truly serve. As we patrol these same streets today, Marshal McCready’s memory drives our commitment to diligence, safety, and community.

His legacy lives on in every officer who wears the RHPD patch. Rest in peace, Marshal.

Marshal George McCready succumbed to wounds sustained the previous day when he was shot while attempting to search a man at the intersection of Del Norte Avenue and Laveta Avenue.

🐾 FOUND DOG – OWNER WANTED 🐾

This distinguished gentleman apparently decided that staying in one yard was overrated and embarked on a solo adventure through Richmond Heights today.

After traveling from the area of Dale Avenue and Yale Avenue to Horner Avenue, he was safely intercepted by a Richmond Heights Police Officer before he could continue his self-guided city tour.

The dog was friendly, cooperative, and declined to provide identification or an explanation for his travels. He has since been transported to Saint Louis County Animal Control, where he is safe and awaiting reunion with his family.

If this handsome traveler belongs to you, please contact Saint Louis County Animal Control for information on reclaiming him.
