This month’s primary elections were a reminder that democracy depends on people who are willing to step forward and serve their communities. We want to congratulate all of the candidates who were successful in their races, and sincerely thank every person who put their name on the ballot and dedicated their time, energy, and heart to public service. Running for office is no small task, and every candidate deserves recognition for their commitment to civic engagement.
While several races were decided last night, some important contests are headed to a June runoff. We encourage everyone to stay informed, stay engaged, and make a plan to vote again in the runoff election on June 16. The work does not stop after one election night - every vote continues to shape the future of our communities, our county, and our state.
