RHHS YD had the opportunity to attend the Capitol for Crossover Day—the final day for bills to be voted on before they die in their chamber. This experience wouldn’t have been possible without the support of those who donated to help fund our trip. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who made it possible!

25 members. 70+ volunteer hours. And now we’re taking it to the Capitol!

On March 6, RHHS YD will head to the Georgia State Capitol for Crossover Day. Help us get there by supporting our fundraiser. Our goal is $1,200 to send around 20 students. Checks written to RHHS Young Democrats are preferred and can be dropped off at the schools front office.

We loved hearing from Andrea Gutierrez of Bryan County News! She discussed the value of journalism and democracy as well as her experiences as a journalist. Such an inspiring convo! Club members also engaged in a blind analysis of two news articles about recent SNAP updates, comparing the differences in articles’ rhetoric💙

RHHS Young Dems recently took part in a sign-making party to express our opinions and promote civic involvement by creating protest signs. Some members chose to attend the No Kings protest to peacefully exercise their right to free speech, while others contributed through creative expression by making the signs. The environment at the protest itself was both peaceful and refreshing to see so many people striving for change!

RHHS Young Democrats - Second Meeting Recap!

We were excited to welcome Patti for Georgia, former candidate for U.S. House in Georgia’s 1st Congressional District, as our guest speaker. She shared inspiring insights on activism and how to get involved in the politcal world. During the meeting, we also discussed club norms and recent events. A big thank you to Young Democrats of Georgia for sponsoring Chick-fil-A for our members!

The RHHS Young Democrats were honored to be invited as guests and volunteers to the Bryan County, GA NAACP Branch 5648 Freedom Fund Gala for 2025. The evening featured an inspiring speech by award-winning actor, author, and activist Jay Jones, a dinner, and even a silent auction. We had so much fun celebrating culture and community!

What’s a campaign without a button? Our first RHHS Young Democrats meeting was a success! At this meeting, we learned about campaigns, created our own, and got to know each other through political speed friending. We also had two special guests: Morgan Foreman & Ken Copi from the Bryan County Democratic Committee - Georgia
