Conner Emmert is still making the rounds.

Fresh off representing Team Virginia at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, Conner spent Saturday at the ESPN ACC Huddle, cheering on his favorite team, the University of Virginia Cavaliers.

Conner was surprised with sideline passes to the game by long-time volunteer Professor Martin Block.

Conner has become one of the most recognizable names connected to Special Olympics North America this year, from the USA Games to Conner's World. The ACC Huddle is just the latest stop.

Swinging into an incredible day of competition at Topgolf⛳️

Special Olympics Virginia athletes took part in the TopGolf Invitational at TopGolf Loudoun, competing alongside athletes at locations across the U.S. and internationally! 🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

This year’s tournament brings together 950+ athletes and Unified partners from 18 states and 4 countries for a day of skill, competition, and fun!

A huge THANK YOU to Topgolf for being an incredible host and partner! 👏 And a big round of applause for all the athletes, coaches, families, Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia for Special Olympics Virginia, and volunteers who made this event possible!

A big moment for one of our athletes! Quinton “Quinn” Olivo will be featured in Times Square on September 12 as part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual Times Square Video Presentation.

Today's Dulles Plane Pull Plane Pull at Washington Dulles International Airport raised $512,000 for our athletes!

67 teams pulled a FedEx or United plane down the tarmac at Dulles International Airport today.

We’re taking over the runway tomorrow! ✈️

This morning, Ellen Head and athlete Alex Burns joined Good Morning Washington to talk all things Washington Dulles International Airport Plane Pull and what it means for Special Olympics Virginia.

The plane is 82 tons. The mission is much bigger.

Thanks to Good Morning Washington for helping us spread the word.

Twin brothers Seb and Gabe Saxon turn 21 today.

For years, "Team Saxon" has shown up for Special Olympics Virginia, plunging and fundraising under the name "For Seb's Sake." This year, Seb's parents Michael and Judi are turning the birthday into a gift for the whole community: every dollar donated to their fundraiser will be matched up to $10,000.

Seb's coach has watched him grow from one of three athletes in Goochland needing a coach by his side at every competition, to a team of seventeen athletes across six schools, with Seb now competing on his own. Gabe has been there the whole way, the kind of brother who shows up for his twin and everyone around him.

Before their regatta competition, WTKR News 3's Kurt Williams stopped by to check in on one of our Special Olympics sailing team, now in its second year at the ODU Sailing Center.

Our athletes teamed up with student volunteers, including Maury High School's Sailing Team, learning new terminology and new skills on the water, all with support from volunteers who showed up because they love the sport and wanted to share it.

Huge thanks to ODU Varsity Sailing for making this program possible.

Today, Dave Pawlowski retires as VP of Sports, Health and Fitness after 26 years on staff (37 counting his years as a volunteer!). Known to generations of athletes simply as "Coach," Dave built our Healthy Athletes program from the ground up, championed athlete voice through Global Messengers, and led medical teams at multiple World and USA Games — becoming the first athletic trainer to do so on that stage.

Thank you, Dave, for showing up for our athletes year after year. You'll always be part of Team Special Olympics Virginia. ❤
