Congratulations to Community Christian Academy in Charlottesville! 🎉

This growing private school recently secured financing through the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority (VSBFA) to support the acquisition of commercial real estate that will allow the school to accommodate its increasing enrollment.

The project was made possible through VSBFA financing in partnership with United Bank, which provided the senior commercial real estate financing. This investment will help Community Christian Academy expand its space and continue serving Charlottesville-area families as its school community grows.

Congratulations to UnoJenga LLC of Harrisonburg! 🎉

This property management business recently secured financing through the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority (VSBFA) to support the acquisition of commercial real estate that will become the home of its property management operations, Paul Riner Inc.

The project was made possible through VSBFA financing in partnership with Bank of the James, which provided the senior commercial real estate financing. Together, these resources are helping a Harrisonburg small business invest in its future, strengthen its operations, and put down roots in the community.

Strong project management is essential to delivering quality work, meeting deadlines, and building a construction business that’s ready for what’s next.

This week, Cohort 5 of the Construction Contractor Series welcomed Hourigan to share practical insights on Project Management and the strategies small contractors can use to manage projects more effectively.

Presented by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) in partnership with Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development, this 12-week, no-cost program connects small construction contractors with experienced industry leaders and subject matter experts who provide real-world guidance on the business side of construction.

From project management and estimating to bonding, access to capital, procurement, and more, participants are building the knowledge and relationships they need to strengthen their businesses and pursue new opportunities.

Growth takes more than great work, it also takes the resources to build on it.

Last week, participants in Cohort 5 of the Construction Contractor Series took a closer look at the financing resources available to help small construction businesses strengthen their financial foundation and pursue new opportunities.

Presented by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity (SBSD) in partnership with Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development, this 12-week, no-cost program gives small construction contractors access to subject matter experts who provide practical guidance on the business side of construction, from estimating and bidding to bonding, financing, procurement, and more.

Access to capital can be a critical piece of the growth equation. By helping contractors better understand financing options and prepare for their financial needs, the series gives participants tools they can use to build stronger, more sustainable businesses.

With nearly 80 graduates to date, the Construction Contractor Series has helped participants increase revenue, expand their workforces, secure long-term contracts, strengthen operations, and advance into opportunities such as Clark Construction's Strategic Partnership Program.
