It is with a very heavy heart that I share the passing of one of our beloved longtime Elder Pep members, Ray.
Ray was part of Elder Pep almost from the very beginning, spending nearly three years with us and becoming such an important part of our family. If you knew Ray, you knew that smile. He came through our doors happy to be there, willing to try just about anything we put in front of him, and always made sure we knew how much he appreciated us. ❤️
But what I will remember most is how much Elder Pep meant to Ray. He found a place where he felt safe. Where he was understood, accepted and loved. Where he could simply be himself without judgment. And in return, Ray gave that same kindness and acceptance back to everyone around him. 💙
It was never just about filling a calendar with activities. It was about creating a place where older adults could walk through the door and know they belonged. We laughed together, learned together, created together, celebrated together and sometimes carried each other through difficult days. We were a family. That is what made Elder Pep so special. 🩷
You cannot manufacture that kind of connection. It grows over time through trust, consistency, love and truly knowing the people you serve. ❤️
Ray was part of the heart of Elder Pep, and his life is part of our story forever. I am so grateful for everything he gave to us by simply being himself. Everyone loved him. Everyone will remember him. 😇
Rest peacefully, Ray. You were loved here, you belonged here, and you will always be a part of our Elder Pep family. 💙🩷🌠
