Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for Richmond.

The extreme heat warning remains in effect until 9 pm this evening Monday 7/27/2026.

Expect dangerously hot conditions today with the heat index values reaching 108 to 114.

Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency and 911 should be called.

Never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Your car's interior will reach lethal temperatures in just a few minutes.

Extreme Heat Warning for Richmond.

An Extreme Heat Warning will go into effect Saturday 7/25/2026 at 1 pm and remain in effect until Sunday evening 7/26/2026 at 9 pm.

Then an Extreme Heat Watch will go into effect from Sunday 7/26/2025 at 9 pm and remain in effect until Tuesday 7/28/2026 at 7 pm.

For the Extreme Heat Warning expect dangerous hot conditions with the heat index values of 110 to 113 degrees.
For the Extreme Heat Watch expect dangerous Heat index values of 105 to 109 degrees.

Heat related illness will increase significantly during Extreme heat and high humidity.

Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing, try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool shaded location. Heatstroke is an emergency and 911 should be called immediately.

Never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in just a matter of minutes

Heat Advisory for Richmond.

A Heat Advisory will go into effect Monday 7/20/2026 at 11 AM until Monday evening at 9 PM. Expect heat index values of around 105 degrees.

The hot temperatures and very high humidity may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke.

Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, and you need to call 911 for help.

Do not leave young children or pets in an unattended vehicle. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in just a matter of minutes.

Richmond Free Fair news 7/8/2026

The Richmond Consolidated Fire District 1 has sold the old fire station located at 202 S Baldwin and we have moved into our new station at 113 N State Rd just off 59 Highway.

Please be aware that the Fire Department no longer owns the building or the grass area to the south of our old station any longer and you will not be able to park here. Parking your campers will need to be on the west side of Beachner Grain Elevator.

Also please be respectful of the homes on Baldwin St and those that live close to the fairgrounds. Please do not block their driveway or park in their yards.

Richmond Consolidated Fire District 1 firefighters would like to remind all visitors coming to the Richmond Free Fair on Thursday July 9th, 10th and 11th 2026 to please remain weather aware. We are expecting very warm temperatures and high humidity. Please stay hydrated and in the shade as much as possible. In the event someone in your party becomes over come with any heat related illness please call 911 immediately do not hesitate.
Richmond Consolidated Fire District 1 firefighters will be in attendance during the free fair.
We hope to see you all during the fair.

Dangerously hot conditions will exist with heat index values up to 110 degrees. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-condition room, stay out of the sun, and check up on your elderly neighbors.

An Extreme Heat Watch will go into effect for Richmond on Sunday June 28th, 2026, at 1 pm and remain in effect until 9 pm Tuesday June 30th, 2026.

Expect heat index values of 108 are possible. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun.

Overnight lows will be in the middle to upper 70s and will not provide much relief from the heat. Hot and humid conditions are expected to continue through much of next week.

Richmond Consolidated Fire District 1 Firefighters want you to know that Sparklers are more dangerous than you think.

Every year small children can be seen holding sparklers. but sparklers are a lot more dangerous than most people think.

Sparklers burn at 2,000 degrees that is hot enough to melt some metals. Sparklers can quickly ignite their clothing on fire, and children have received severe burns from dropping sparklers on their feet. Sparklers accounted for 29% of fireworks injuries to children under the age of 5.

Consider using a safer alternative for younger children, like glow sticks, or confetti poppers or colored streamers.
