Trucks need space to access curbside recycling!

Please leave 3 feet between your recycling cart and mailboxes, parked cars and other carts.

It's also a good idea to leave about 4 feet underneath branches or utility lines (hopefully your utility lines are never that low!).

💚 YOUR CART

Are you new to the City of Richmond? Perhaps you just moved into off-campus housing near Virginia Commonwealth University or Virginia Union University?

We know recycling and trash carts look alike, but it's important to know the difference.

Your recycling cart should be green with a blue lid. In some cases, an all-green recycling cart may have been delivered to your home. Even if that happened, you can always tell which is for recycling by looking for the "CVWMA" stamp on the side.

CVWMA, a regional public-service authority, coordinates curbside recycling in Richmond, while the city is responsible for trash collection.

In our next post, we'll discuss what goes IN the recycling cart.
