So excited for this event on Thursday…come out and join in on the fun!!

A second splash pad in Chesterfield County opens this week! Be one of the first to splash and play at this facility at the grand opening of The Park at River City Sportsplex on Thursday, June 11.

From 4 to 7 p.m., have fun exploring the park's splash pad, playground, trail and fitness equipment. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m.

In celebration of International Day of Play, the event will feature engaging activities including a bubble machine, scavenger hunt and demonstrations from Rockwood Nature Center's environmental educators.

Enjoy free Kona Ice. Food and drinks will be available to purchase from vendors.

Admission is free. The Park at River City Sportsplex is located at 13030 Genito Road.

In case you didn’t know, it’s Safety Around Water Week at all of the local YMCA’s…anyone, no matter age or skill level can sign up for free swimming lessons. Last night I read some safety around water books to some of the after school kids and then went to check out the babies taking lessons with parents, with some of my Manchester Y fellow board members. There’s still time to sign up and participate!
