VITA is expanding its workforce with two openings in the Commonwealth security and risk management division.

VITA is hiring two threat management analysts for the threat intel and vulnerability management team. Responsibilities include web application scanning, vulnerability management and threat intelligence. The analyst will function as a liaison between internal and external customers, translating highly technical information into understandable terms. They will develop advisories on newly identified critical and/or zero-day vulnerabilities and emerging threats that impact COV systems and data.

We were given the Collective Impact Award for establishing the highest participation rate in the 100-500 agency size category and Teamwork Award for a several events that supported nonprofits across Virginia. The customer communications specialist is responsible for assisting with critical business-related content and messages to Commonwealth of Virginia agencies and localities. They should be a collaborative multi-tasker who can meet tight deadlines and translate complex technical language into customer-friendly messaging.

The internal communications specialist is responsible for managing VITA’s strong internal communications program, which is anchored by a robust intranet full of engaging and informative content. They should be a collaborative and curious storyteller, adept at working with others to interpret complex technical jargon, explain the why and motivate.

Last week VITA partnered with Public Sector Network to host the Government Innovation Virginia 2026. The one-day conference brought together state leaders, tech experts and industry partners. Numerous VITA leaders shared strategies for AI integration, strengthening cybersecurity, modernizing infrastructure, improving data management and fostering collaboration across agencies.

You came, you networked, you learned about AI!

Last week, VITA hosted a Services Fair. Professionals from across the Commonwealth came together to explore how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of government services. Speakers helped Commonwealth of Virginia agencies understand AI readiness, governance and practical use case pathways that support responsible innovation and strengthen public trust.

We were also joined by industry partners leading the way in AI adoption, each showcasing tools that help agencies modernize and deliver outcomes.

Thank you to our presenters, suppliers and all agency participants for making this a meaningful and forward-thinking discussion. We're excited about continuing the conversation throughout the 2026 Services Fair series.
