The annual Fire & EMS memorial service was held yesterday at Richmond Raceway. The Commonwealth paused to take the time to memorialize the Firefighters and EMS personnel from across the Commonwealth. On this week we take time to recognize the tremendous sacrifice that law enforcement officers make to protect our communities. I had a great time participating in the anti-swatting bill signing event at E.C. Glass High School with the Mayor Stephanie Reed. For those that don’t know, “swatting” refers to the act of making a prank call or false threat to emergency services with the intent of garnering a large police response. Swatting wastes the time of police officers and draws limited resources away from areas that actually need them. Make no mistake, swatting is no joke.
