🚨 SCAMMED? ACT FAST. 🚨

Did you know that if you become the victim of an online scam, fraudulent wire transfer, fake online purchase, romance scam, investment scam, or other internet-related fraud, reporting it immediately can improve the chances of recovering your money?

The FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) allows victims to report internet crimes directly at IC3.gov. The sooner a report is filed, the better the opportunity for law enforcement and financial institutions to take action.

✔ Report internet scams and fraud
✔ Available 24/7
✔ Helps investigators identify and track criminal activity
✔ May increase the likelihood of recovering lost funds
✔ Helps protect others from becoming victims

If you believe you've been targeted by a scam, don't wait. Report it as soon as possible and contact your local law enforcement agency.

Please share this information with family members, friends, and neighbors, especially those who may be more vulnerable to scams.

🌐🛡️ June is Internet Safety Month 🛡️🌐

As technology continues to play a larger role in our daily lives, it's important to remember that online safety starts at home—especially for our children.

Internet Safety Month is a reminder for parents, guardians, and caregivers to have regular conversations with children about safe online behavior. Encourage kids to:

✅ Never share personal information online
✅ Use strong passwords and keep them private
✅ Be cautious when interacting with strangers on social media, gaming platforms, and messaging apps
✅ Report cyberbullying, suspicious messages, or inappropriate content to a trusted adult
✅ Think before they post—what goes online can stay online

Parents are encouraged to stay involved by monitoring online activity, setting privacy controls, and learning about the apps and websites their children use.

By working together, we can help create a safer online environment and protect our children from scams, predators, cyberbullying, and other digital threats.

Let's make Internet Safety Month a time to educate, communicate, and empower our youth to stay safe online.

Community Training Notice

On Saturday, May 30, a mass casualty incident training exercise will take place at the Richmond Municipal Airport from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Our local public safety partners will be working together during this exercise to better prepare, train, and serve our community. Residents may notice multiple emergency vehicles, helicopters, and a school bus in the area. Training signs will be posted to inform the public that this is a planned exercise.

Traffic near the airport may be slower than normal as emergency vehicles enter and exit the airport grounds. Please use caution, be patient, and allow extra travel time if you will be in the area.

This is only a training exercise. There is no emergency.

Thank you for your understanding and support as our emergency responders continue working to keep Richmond prepared and safe.
