Join us starting tomorrow from 9:00 am-12:00 pm or 1:00 pm-4:00 pm, to kick off our Parchester Village Soundwall Mural Community Paint Day at the Parchester Village Community Center to paint one of the largest community murals in Richmond history! Paint days will also be held on June 8th, June 15th, July 13th, July 20th & July 27th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided. This project is a collaboration between lead artist Richard Muro Salazar, assistant lead artist John Wehrle, Parchester Village Neighborhood Council, Richmond Arts and Culture Commission, Meritage Homes, and Richmond Love Your Block.

This past Saturday, January 27, YES Nature to Neighborhood volunteers got together to weed and soften the soil around the garden area as well as paint some planter boxes!
YES Nature to Neighborhoods will be expanding the garden area in Nicholl Park by adding four planter boxes with built-in benches, medicinal and pollinator-friendly plants to add to new and existing planter boxes, signage listing the names and properties of the plants, supplies to ensure the ongoing maintenance of the garden.

Redesign Shields-Reid Park
In September and October 2020, the City of Richmond held 7 community workshops and design sessions to develop a concept design plan for a redesigned Shields-Reid Park. We received input from over 200 residents, park users, community members, and other stakeholders on their dream park. In March 2021, a grant application was submitted for over $8 million in improvements to the park. Take a look at our journey with the community and wish us the best of luck!

Today we are working with @yplanberkeley students from Japan, to continue and complete a #LoveNorthRichmond and #RichmondLoveYourBlock service project from last month. Last month we helped a senior in #NorthRichmondCA paint her fence, which is now serving as a canvas for the students to #paint a #mural on the fence. Thank you #YPLAN for helping Ms. Petra Alegria and for helping us work against #illegaldumping and #blight in this neighborhood!

We've been busy, busy, busy in #NorthRichmondCA - so busy that we haven't been able to post our progress! Today is our 5th work day in the past 7 days. We are completing our 3rd project this week.
Come out to 648-649 Giaramita (right over the bridge from Verde Elementary) from 2 PM to 6 PM today to #volunteer and help us spread mulch, install new plants from Annie's Annuals, #paint over graffiti, and paint and put up some artwork! Food will be provided for volunteers (sponsored by @serviceworksrichmond)
Thank you to our #Parks Department for this first (of many) truckloads of fresh #mulch! Wow!
Today's project is jointly funded by the City of Richmond and Contra Costa County North Richmond Mitigation Grant.
