Mr. K. and his 9-year-old rescue dog, Elvis, share their gratitude for ACTS. Back in March, ACTS helped him when he was in a rough spot and his housing was threatened.

ACTS helps neighbors, like Mr. K., who have experienced a setback that puts them just a step away from homelessness. We help them achieve housing stability and avoid homelessness by providing financial assistance, housing counseling, and community resources.

We are thrilled to announce that in March, our Chief Operating Officer, Hana Yun, graduated as a part of Virginia Housing Alliance's inaugural Housing Leadership Institute (HLI) cohort! For 10 months, Hana dedicated herself to growing and learning alongside 14 other affordable housing and community development professionals.

Hana's commitment to excellence is truly inspiring, and we are proud of all that she has accomplished during this program. We can't wait to see how she will apply her newfound knowledge and insights to further our mission and drive positive change in our community.

Calendar Year 2019

In Calendar year 2019, ACTS assisted 1,360 households in the Greater Richmond Metropolitan Area. We provided 394 households with financial assistance. These households included 995 individuals of whom 448 were under the age of 18. Your support goes to assist more households as our referrals are exponentially increasing.

ACTS also collaborates with 3 other agencies in operating the Homeless Crisis Line. Those expenses are through HUD funds. The HCL averages 5500 calls a month.

The goal is to continue helping more and more people by support through individuals, foundations and congregations.

ACTS’ CEO, William Poarch, was appointed to the the Richmond City Mayor’s Eviction Prevention Task Force and leads the tennant support sub-group. The task force has put some recommendations in front of the Mayor and we are awaiting the final decision.
