Each year, City recognizes employees who demonstrate a commitment to community service with the City Cares award. Six employees were recently selected for this prestigious honor after being nominated by their peers. This year’s winners are:

- Sarah Ellison, Senior Digital Channels Specialist, Cross Lanes Operations Center
- Ora Muth, Regional Banking Manager, Greater Huntington
- Krisey Riley, Branch Manager, Gassaway
- Chris Rooks, Branch Manager, Frankfort
- Shawn Tower, Branch Manager, Tates Creek

Winners are recognized with a $1,500 donation to a charity of their choice and a City Cares lapel pin. Kandel's charity choice is the Pathways to Bright Futures Foundation, Sarah's is the FBI Charleston WV Citizens Academy Alumni Association, Ora's is Helping Hands for Little Hearts, Krisey's is the Landmark Studio for the Arts, Chris' is the Frankfort CARES Coalition, and Shawn's is the Kiwanis Club of Lexington Blue Grass.
