Join us for our upcoming car seat check event, where certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will inspect your child’s car seat, ensure you’re able to install it correctly, and answer any questions you may have.

A properly installed car seat is one of the most effective ways to protect a child in the event of a crash.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of this free opportunity to help keep our youngest community members safe.

Happy 250th Anniversary of Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate 250 years of freedom and the privilege of calling this country home. We are grateful to live and serve in the land of the free.

While many are enjoying time with family and friends, remember that your firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and so many others are on duty today to keep our communities safe.

As you celebrate, keep a few things in mind:
🇺🇸 Drive sober or designate a driver.
🎆 We prefer you keep all your fingers (and the rest of you) intact—practice firework safety.
🔥 We’re currently experiencing dry conditions, so be mindful of where you’re setting off fireworks and help prevent unnecessary fires.
🍔 We appreciate a good grill master as much as anyone—make sure your grill is in a safe location, well away from your home, and operated responsibly.

From all of us, have a safe and happy Fourth of July. We hope your day is filled with family, friends, freedom, and memories worth celebrating.

Our hearts are with the people of Venezuela as they face this tragic earthquake. We are keeping everyone impacted in our thoughts during this difficult time.

We are especially proud of the work being done by our brothers and sisters from Fairfax Firefighters and Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue - VA-TF1 / USA-01. Their professionalism, extensive training, and unwavering commitment to serving others are making a difference as they assist with rescue and recovery efforts.

Thank you for answering the call, representing the fire service with honor, and bringing hope to those who need it most.

Today we honor Firefighter Buddy Hughes — his life, the love he had for his family, and the impact he made on those closest to him.

Buddy carried pain that became too heavy, and we recognize the silent battles so many face. Today, we honor not only the life he lived, but also the importance of continuing the conversation around mental health and making sure those who are struggling know they are not alone.
