Are you ready for a cutting-edge educational experience? Apply to the Henrico Virtual Academy, HCPS' only virtual K-12 school, for the 2026-27 school year by Jan. 30 at hcps.info/ApplyToHVA! 💻️

HVA offers a rigorous, engaging and mostly synchronous virtual classroom environment designed for high achievers. We're actively seeking students who are:

✅️ Highly motivated: Thrive when working independently and are ready to take ownership of their learning.

While HVA operates virtually, the full HVA experience connects students with each other and the community — you can check out some of the fun and engagement had by students on the Henrico Virtual Academy social media pages or on the HCPS YouTube page at https://www.youtube.com/HenricoSchoolsTV. High school students may also participate in ACE Center courses on alternating days as well as VHSL activities at zoned schools.

After assessing schools and county roads following the recent inclement weather, Cumberland County Schools (CCS) will operate on a two-hour delay for students and school-based staff on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026.

Schools will begin two hours later than their normal start time, and buses will also run on a two-hour delay schedule. Twelve-month employees at schools and Central Services personnel should report to work at their regular time. Employees with questions should contact their direct supervisor for guidance.

Morning Prime Time will not be available, and breakfast will not be served. Afternoon Prime Time will operate on a normal schedule.

E.E. Miller Elementary School and Westover High School will operate on an asynchronous remote learning schedule due to HVAC issues. During the asynchronous remote learning day, students will complete grade-level assignments prepared by their teachers. There will be no live video sessions or required login times, and students are expected to work independently at their own pace.

CCS’ inclement weather plan prioritizes the safety of students, staff and families. Updates will be shared through ParentLink and posted on the district’s website and social media channels.
