Have you heard about the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative?

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading initiative is a self-guided, ongoing early literacy program designed to encourage reading to little ones under 5. 1,000 books might seem like a daunting task, but you will be surprised at just how achievable this goal is! If you read just one book a night, you will have read over 1,000 books to your child by the time they are 3. Also, you don't have to read 1,000 unique books. Rereading your child's favorites counts just as much. The books read during library programs, community events, etc. can also be included. Every book counts!
