Have you ever wondered what it's really like to work in law enforcement? This is your chance to go behind the badge.
The Madison County Citizens' Police Academy is a FREE 11-week program that gives community members an inside look at modern policing through hands-on experiences, demonstrations, and instruction from local law enforcement professionals.

• Drive a police vehicle on the DOCJT skills course
• Fi****ms simulation training
• Crime scene investigation
• DUI enforcement & accident reconstruction
• K9 demonstrations
• Defensive tactics
• Dispatch operations
• Traffic stops
• Courtroom procedures
• Tours of the Department of Criminal Justice Training and Madison County Detention Center

Mondays, September 14 – November 23, 2026
🕡 6:30–8:30 p.m.
✅ Who can apply?
Anyone 18 or older who lives, works, or attends college in Madison County.
🤝 Meet professionals from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training, Richmond Police Department, Berea Police Department, Madison County Sheriff's Office, Kentucky State Police Post 7, EKU Police Department, Madison County 911, Madison County Coroner's Office and Madison County Detention Center.
⚠️ Only 30 participants will be selected! Applications are due September 8, 2026, and all applicants must pass a background check.
