Congratulations to the 48 inmates who made the decision to give their lives to the Lord and be baptized.

A special thank you to our longtime religious service providers — Bill Connie Clark and Walter Rhodus. Your continued dedication, compassion, and faithful service to the men and women in our facility have made a lasting impression to many people. Without your commitment, this would not have been possible.

Today was a powerful reminder that hope, faith, and positive change are always possible even in the worst situations.

Service Spotlight:

In early December 2025, Connie Longhany, Program Director for BHG Behavioral Health Group – Richmond, met with the Madison County Detention Center to discuss the provision of professional counseling services in support of individuals participating in the facility’s Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program.

Following this engagement, a formal partnership was established with BHG Behavioral Health Group – Richmond to enhance and expand substance use disorder treatment services within the facility.

As part of this initiative, MCDC has expanded its Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program to include structured counseling services, providing a more comprehensive approach to addressing both the physical and behavioral aspects of addiction.

Counseling services are provided at no cost to participants and are delivered by certified and licensed professionals, including Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselors (CADC) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselors (LCADC). This ensures individuals in custody receive credible, evidence-based, and professionally guided care.

Participants in the program also receive ongoing clinical evaluations, including American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) assessments, as well as individualized treatment planning to ensure care is appropriate, safe, and tailored to each individual’s needs.

Substance use disorder impacts more than physical health—it affects emotional well-being, relationships, and decision-making. While medication plays a critical role in stabilizing individuals, counseling provides the tools necessary to support long-term recovery.

Through this partnership, individuals participating in treatment are offered weekly group counseling sessions focused on:
coping and decision-making skills
underlying behavioral and emotional challenges
positive lifestyle changes
for successful reentry into the community

We are excited to assist with providing structured, evidence-based treatment that supports recovery and reduces recidivism.

Official Announcement – Mental Health Services Expansion

Jailer Larry Brock is proud to announce a significant advancement in our approach to inmate care through a strengthened partnership with our medical provider. As part of this initiative, we now employ a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive, on-site mental health services.
This enhancement allows our facility to deliver integrated mental health treatment, including both clinical counseling services and medication management, ensuring individuals receive appropriate care tailored to their specific needs during incarceration.
Our goal is to provide the highest level of care that not only supports the stability, safety, and well-being of the individual, but also enhances the overall security and operational effectiveness of the facility.
By addressing mental health needs proactively and professionally, we are better equipped to manage behaviors, reduce risk, and promote a safer environment for both staff and inmates.
This program reflects Jaiker Brocks continued commitment to implementing evidence-based practices and taking meaningful steps to ensure that those in our custody receive appropriate, ethical, and effective mental health care.
The Madison County Detention Center remains dedicated to improving outcomes through professional standards, accountability, and forward-thinking correctional practices. In addition to mental health services, we also provide a licensed medical doctor, a nurse practitioner and nurses 24hrs a day.

The Madison County Detention Center has partnered with Enrich’s Madison County One-Stop Resource and Referral Hub to help provide re-entry and recovery assistance for individuals returning to the community after incarceration.

Through this partnership, inmates being released from the detention center will have the opportunity to connect with Enrich’s network of community resources. These services are designed to support recovery, stability, and successful reintegration by linking individuals with programs that address substance use recovery, employment assistance, housing resources, and other essential support services.

By working together with Enrich and its network of more than 100 community partners, the Madison County Detention Center is taking an important step toward reducing recidivism and strengthening community safety. This collaboration helps ensure that individuals leaving custody are better connected to the resources they need to rebuild their lives and become productive members of the community.

This partnership reflects the detention center’s continued commitment to responsible inmate management, community collaboration, and long-term public safety.
