🚨 Structure Fire Response – Automatic Aid During Severe Weather 🚨

At approximately 12:35 this evening, Fairchild Fire Department was automatically dispatched to assist Thompson Fire Department with a residential structure fire during the passing storm.

Engine 270 and Tanker 280 responded from Fairchild. Shortly after, Richmond Fire Department responded with Engine 42 and Chief 2. Due to the rural location and lack of hydrants, additional water supply resources were requested, bringing Needville Fire Department and Beasley Fire Department to the alarm with tanker support.

As operations continued, additional assistance was requested from Sugar Land Fire Department and Stafford Fire Department, who responded with tanker and engine companies to support the incident.

Fort Bend County EMS staged on scene with a Battalion Chief and ambulance to provide medical support for firefighters and residents if needed.

Despite challenging weather conditions and rural water operations, crews worked together seamlessly to bring the fire under control. All residents safely escaped the home, and no injuries were reported.

This incident once again highlights the importance of regional cooperation and the strength of the mutual aid system. Great work by all agencies involved.

A special thank you goes out to Scrub Bros Window Washing for stepping up after the incident to assist with gross decontamination of equipment and washing apparatus, helping crews quickly return units to service.

This evening Fairchild Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire caused by contractor work being performed. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire involvement extending through the attic space and roof, creating difficult access conditions for suppression efforts.
Thanks to the quick actions and coordinated efforts of responding agencies, firefighters were able to gain access to the concealed spaces, stop the fire’s progression, and keep damage contained primarily to the area of origin. Despite the challenges, this incident was considered a good stop with the remainder of the structure sustaining minimal damage.

During operations, crews were also able to safely rescue a cat from the residence. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported to occupants or firefighters.

Training never stops at Fairchild Fire Department.
This week our members, alongside our neighbors from Damon Fire Department, conducted hands-on training focused on HazMat Gross Decontamination operations. Crews trained on emergency decon corridor setup, victim removal, responder decontamination, SCBA operations in chemical protective suits, and rapid mitigation of contaminated patients and firefighters.

As our community continues to grow, so does the potential for transportation-related hazardous material incidents involving highways, farm chemicals, fuel transport, industrial products, and commercial traffic moving through our area every day. Preparing for these incidents before they happen is critical to protecting both our responders and the citizens we serve.

These scenarios are physically demanding and require strong communication, teamwork, and discipline under pressure. Our firefighters continue pushing themselves to train for all hazards — not just fires — so we are ready when our community needs us most.

We are proud of the dedication shown by every member who participated in this training and thankful for the opportunity to train alongside our brothers and sisters from Damon Fire Department.

Training because it feels good—and because it’s fun! After all, where else can you destroy vehicles and not get in trouble?

This month, we’re proud to celebrate two of our own for reaching major milestones in their fire service careers.

Firefighter Shinn earned her Paramedic patch, adding another accomplishment to an already impressive list of certifications. She is now officially a TCFP Commissioned Firefighter / Hazmat Tech / DSHS Medic. Outstanding work—keep pushing forward!

Firefighter Dietz also hit a big milestone by earning his EMT certification, adding to his TCFP credentials. Congratulations on the hard work and dedication!

We’re excited to continue helping all of our members grow this year—adding certifications, building skill sets, and filling their toolboxes with knowledge that has no limits.

Today, we celebrated with a fun and challenging field day alongside our brothers from Damon Fire Department and Orchard Fire Department, breaking in Rescue Randy. Firefighters were tasked with demonstrating advanced stabilization techniques, strategic victim removal and recovery operations, and training alongside the new duty crew personnel and rookies.

Days like today build skills, confidence, and brotherhood—and remind us why we love what we do.

Great turn out in ticket sales! We have ordered 1,200 pounds of crawfish. Hopefully from the sounds of it we won't have much left over. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, but a few things to answer your questions to help the processes.

First, if you ordered online, we have your name written down and the number of tickets purchased. We will set up a table and have you check in and pick up your arm band.

If you have a hard copy ticket you will check in at the same spot, in exchange for your ticket we will give you an armband.

As far as buying by the pound quantities tomorrow it will depend on how much we have available to spare.

When you arrive at the Columbus Hall you will find us in the pavilion behind the hall. Park your vehicle and walk up. We expect to have the area under the trees roped off and tables outside. Depending on weather. The rain is supposed to hold off but its Needville so we will see.

We suggest wearing your stretchy pants, dancing shoes and bring a chair if you like.

March was a busy and productive month for Fairchild Fire Department! 🚒

Our team stayed committed to growth and excellence with several members traveling to TEEX for Fire Instructor 1 and Officer 1 training during Spring School. As soon as crews returned, we conducted PAT testing for our new hire duty crews, ensuring they’re ready to meet the aggressive demands of the job.

Touch a Truck with Fort Bend County EMS was a success for their symposium.

We also completed valuable Hazmat Tech CE hours with our partners at Pecan Grove Fire Department, strengthening our preparedness for hazardous materials response.

To cap off the month, multiple personnel successfully worked on obtaining their IV certifications, continuing to expand the level of care we provide to our community.
