🚧✅ 41st Street & Bissell Avenue is open!

The new intersection is now substantially complete and ready for public use. Improvements include:

🚶 High-visibility crosswalks
♿ ADA-accessible parking upgrades
🛣️ New pavement and a safer lane configuration
🚲 Improved roadway layout for people walking, biking, and driving

📸 Pictured here is the City of Richmond Public Works Operations Signs & Lines Crew, who installed the new thermoplastic lane striping. Their work provides long-lasting, highly visible pavement markings that improve guidance for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians while enhancing safety day and night.

While a few minor punch-list items remain, the project is open and serving the community. Thank you for your patience as we continue investing in safer, more accessible streets throughout Richmond.

Public Works contractor Myers & Sons Construction began bridge maintenance on the Richmond Parkway Viaducts and 13th Street Overcrossing. Work will continue throughout August, with overnight operations starting July 13th. Expect Temporary lane closures

Attention Attention - 🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT – RICHMOND PARKWAY STRIPING WORK 🚧

Beginning Monday 6/29/26, crews will be working along Richmond Parkway to remove existing pavement striping in preparation for new roadway markings.

⚠️ What to expect:

Temporary lane closures
Traffic control and cone zones
Slower travel through the work area
🚗 Please slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution when driving through the cone zone. Your patience helps protect our crews and fellow motorists while this important work is completed.
