Sometimes certain insects such as ticks can be seen more often during this season. Here are some ways to keep yourself clear of ticks:

✅Wearing long clothing
✅Avoiding grassy areas of parks or trails
✅Taking a shower after being outside
✅Checking for possible ticks or bites on your body

It’s important to support your loved ones by encouraging them to have a mental, physical, and emotional check-in with a medical provider.

When Yvonne suffered a stroke, it was her niece Shelby that helped Yvonne enroll into Cardinal Care. Cardinal Care covered Yvonne’s hospital stay, as well as the medications she must take.

Governor Abigail Spanberger has appointed Steve Ford as Director of the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS). Ford brings deep institutional knowledge and steady leadership to the role, having previously served in senior positions within DMAS, including Deputy Director and Division Director.

Over the course of his career at DMAS, Ford has led work on Medicaid policy development, reimbursement, eligibility, appeals, and budget-related decision making. He has extensive experience managing Medicaid financing, payment methodologies, and federal compliance, and has worked closely with the General Assembly and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on complex programmatic and fiscal matters.

A seasoned public servant, Ford is widely respected across state government and among providers for his operational expertise and disciplined approach to managing one of the Commonwealth’s largest and most complex programs.
