VETE Services Currently, more than 1000 institutions with various programs are approved in Virginia.

The Veterans Education Training and Employment (VETE) directorate of the Virginia Department of Veteran’s Services ensures that every Veteran or eligible person has a full and fair opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential. The Veterans Education Training and Employment (VETE) directorate of the Virginia Department of Veteran’s Services ensures that every Veteran or eligible person has a

full and fair opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential through access to the G.I. Bill approved post-secondary educational, training/licensure/certification, entrepreneurial institutions, V3 certified employers and Virginia Colleges and Universities. VETE houses the:

Virginia Values Veterans Program (V3)
- Mission: The V3 mission is to educate and train employers throughout the Commonwealth on the Value of Virginia’s Veterans, and to help employers connect with these personnel assets to maximize the productivity of their workforce. Virginia Transition Assistance Program (VTAP)
- Mission: VTAP assesses, coordinates, and disseminates opportunities for members of the armed forces, veterans, and their spouses transitioning from military to civilian life by providing a pathway to employment, education, and entrepreneurship. Military Medics and Corpsmen Program (MMAC)
- Mission: The MMAC Program provides service members with specialized medical training an opportunity for employment at six Virginia healthcare systems, a pathway to licensure and long-term medical careers, and a solution to acute healthcare staffing shortages in Virginia's healthcare industry. State Approving Agency for Veterans Education and Training (SAA)
- Mission: The NASAA works in cooperation with its partners: (1) to facilitate the efforts of the state approving agencies to promote and safeguard quality education and training programs for all Veterans and other eligible persons; (2) to ensure greater education and training opportunities that meet the changing needs of Veterans; and (3) to protect the GI Bill resources available for those programs. The Virginia SkillBridge Program helps transitioning service members in their goal of civilian employment. Transitioning service members that are within 180 days of separation may qualify for a SkillBridge internship. It provides you with real-world experience while you get paid from the military. Please join us for the Commonwealth's Memorial Day Ceremony, airing at 11 a.m. Monday, May 29, from the Virginia War Memorial.

Because of the weather, the ceremony will be held indoors so seating is limited. But you can watch:

The laying of memorial wreaths will take place in the Shrine of Memory: 20th Century upon completion of the indoor program.

The Memorial Day Concert by the Richmond Cadet Alumni Band and Friends will still be at 2 p.m., indoors at Veterans Hall.

Wherever you may be, may we all take a moment to remember and honor those U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the U.S. armed forces.

UPDATE: The annual Commonwealth's Memorial Day Ceremony will be held indoors at 11 a.m. Monday, May 29, because of the weather.

Seating will be limited, but please make plans to watch the ceremony broadcast on WTVR-TV, CBS-6 in Richmond.
