Richmond Police are responding to the area of Park Crest Court where an individual is fleeing and evading police between buildings.

Motorists should avoid the area and residents should stay inside and lock doors until otherwise directed by police.

It is with heavy hearts that we cancel the Green Alert for Nathan Branstutter. Mr. Branstutter was found deceased yesterday evening, just after 6:30 p.m.

Richmond Police sends our condolences to the Branstutter Family and all who knew and loved Nathan. As a veteran of the U.S. Military, we are deeply grateful for Nathan’s service to our country, which gives us the freedom to serve and protect our local communities. Regarding the family, we ask that our community respect their privacy and offer their thoughts and prayers in this time of grieving.

Richmond Police Department's Records Office will be on a 2 Hour Delay for Wednesday, January 28th. Business hours for Wednesday will be 10:00am-4:30pm.

At this time, regular 8-4:30 operations are planned for Thursday. We will post if that decision changes!

City of Richmond offices will operate on a 2-hour delay on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. All departments will report to offices, with the exception of Parks & Recreation Administration and Tourism which will work on a remote basis.
