Luckily, Leidiana had already put her onto the secret weapon: the RVAPB Project Tracker. 📍

Project Update: Tree Trimming, Replanting and Sidewalk Restoration📍

Join former RVAPB 6th District Budget Delegate Kenrick Cameron as he visits two completed improvements in the 6th District that are making neighborhoods stronger and more resilient.

First, Kenrick stops by Hillside Court in Southside to check out newly improved curb and gutter infrastructure. Located alongside a floodplain, these upgrades play an important role in managing stormwater and helping keep neighborhood streets safe and usable.

Then, we head across the river to Highland Park, where the Urban Forestry Team has planted new American Elm trees that will provide shade, cleaner air, and a healthier urban canopy for years to come.

This project was proposed by residents, refined by community volunteers, and ultimately selected by voters during Richmond's first Participatory Budgeting cycle. It's a great example of how community ideas can improve both our built and natural environments.

Project Update: Plant Trees to Increase Urban Canopy & Shade📍

The trees are in the ground—and they'll keep giving back for generations to come. 🌱

Join Aaron Linas, former Richmond People's Budget Steering Commission member and current conservation landscaper, as he visits Fulton to showcase newly planted Willow Oak trees funded through Richmond People's Budget.

These trees, planted by the Urban Forestry Team at the Department of Public Works, are helping expand Richmond's urban canopy—bringing more shade, cleaner air, and a healthier environment to the neighborhood for years to come.

This project was proposed by residents, refined by community volunteers, and ultimately selected by voters during Richmond's first Participatory Budgeting cycle. It's another reminder that community ideas can grow into lasting investments.

Project Update: Invest in Hickory Hill Community Center & Garden📍

A little rain can go a long way. 💧🌱

Join Quawneisha People's, Richmond People's Budget Steering Commission member, as she visits Hickory Hill Community Center to check out a newly installed rainwater catchment system that will help support the site's thriving community garden.

The garden, stewarded by our friends at Virginia Community Voice, is one of many amenities that make Hickory Hill a destination. Along with the grill, seating area, playground, basketball court and football/ soccer field!

This project was proposed by residents, refined by community volunteers, and ultimately selected by voters during Richmond's first Participatory Budgeting cycle. The rainwater catchment system is now complete, with one final piece—a Little Free Library—still to come.

Project Update: A Safer Crossing at Humphrey Calder Community Center 📍

Join Boz Boschen, 1st District Commission member, as he visits the site of a new speed table and crosswalk at Humphrey Calder Community Center.

Located at the gateway to Carytown and just off the interstate, this center serves residents of all ages. This new pedestrian safety improvement makes it easier and safer for families, children, and community to access the center, park, and playground.

This project was proposed by residents, refined by volunteers, and ultimately selected by voters during Richmond's first Participatory Budgeting cycle. It's another example of what can happen when communities have a direct say in how public dollars are invested.

Project Update: New Bus Shelter Coming to Lombardy Street 📍

A more comfortable ride is on the way. 🚌

Join Justin from GRTC as he visits the Lombardy Street Kroger, where a new bus shelter will soon be installed thanks to Richmond People's Budget participants.

This idea was proposed by residents, refined by community volunteers, and ultimately selected by voters during Richmond's first Participatory Budgeting cycle. It's a great example of what can happen when residents have a direct say in how public dollars are spent.
