How can Earlham be safer with COVID? Fill out the poll to share your thoughts with your representatives in ESG. We will use your input to guide our conversations with admin. Results will be sent out on Saturday, so please get your responses in by Friday at 9 pm!

Please take two minutes to fill out this poll: bit.ly/ESGpoll

Your response is private and only the compiled data will become public and used as a check-in to see where the study body actually stands on these issues. Thanks for making your voice heard and spreading the word!

Hey everyone!

We hope you’re doing well. Less than 2 weeks are left before we return to campus. If you have any lingering concerns or questions fill out this form: https://forms.gle/7aEAMqZcsiUpDDz76

Charlie Burton and Jonathan Todd will bring your concerns to Bonita in our last two meetings of the summer. We will continue reporting back to you through our notes which you can find here (note: we have met a few times since our last post including to discuss exactly what it would take for Earlham to send everyone home. It’s very important and new information. Go check it out)

If you haven’t seen Earlham’s FAQ check it out on the website. Since it is more recent than ESG’s FAQ with Bonita we have opted to just share this FAQ: https://earlham.edu/coronavirus/faq/

Stay safe, we’ll see you soon.

Hello everyone,

FAQ update! Back on June 9th, we consolidated over 20 questions for an FAQ with Bonita. We have formal written responses as well as more extended answers through Charlie and Jonathan’s meeting with Bonita on June 18th. Anne has asked us to hold onto those answers until after her Heart(h)side Chat on July 7th. In the meantime, check out our notes from the last few meetings with Bonita, they might be able to answer your questions/concerns before July 7th. As always, feel free to contact Jonathan or Charlie if you have anything you’d like us to bring to our meetings with Bonita.

Best,
Jonathan Todd and Charlie Burton

Hello Earlhamites,

We hope you are doing well and staying safe. ESG is compiling questions for a running FAQ page with Bonita. We recognize that this might not be a top priority for students right now, but hopefully, it can create a space where students can find answers to make life a bit less chaotic. If you have questions about budget cuts or anything related to the college there’s a good chance you aren’t alone in that. Please hop onto the form and submit all the questions you have here:

Some of your questions might have been answered in our past meetings with Anne and Bonita, check the notes to see:

George Floyd’s life, along with many other black lives, has been taken too soon because of racism and police brutality. Racism in America is systemic. It is present in every aspect of life including higher education. We know that non-racism is not enough. We know anti-racism to be the only way we can be of service, and we strive to do this in the positions we hold and the policies we create. However, we have not done this well enough. Now, we are listening, brainstorming, and researching ways we can better serve our African-American classmates. We recognize that actions speak louder than words, and we look forward to sharing our way forward soon. We stand with you. Black Lives Matter.

[Have any Questions for the Cabinet?]

ATTENTION EARLHAMITES!

If you would like to voice questions/concerns/proposals to Anne, Bonita, and/or the Cabinet, please fill out the form! Jonathan Todd (ESG Historian) and Charlie Burton (ESG Senator) are the ESG Cabinet Liaisons, and they will be meeting with Anne and Bonita through the summer. Possibly the most important part of this job is to receive input from all students so they can have conversations that reflect the sentiment of the entire student body as a diverse collective. Thanks for your input!
