Madison County 4-H is proud to honor three Hometown Heroes this year! For our first ever joint contest with Madison County Community Arts, we asked 4-Hers to interview and photograph local farmers who help put food on the table in our community. See their photos and notes from their interviews in the captions below!

Here are some highlights:
Question: "What is something you learned the hard way?"
Answer: "Don't mess with a cow and its new calf."

Question: "What kept you farming when you wanted to quit?"
Answer: "We never wanted to quit."

Question: "What's the best piece of advice you ever received?"
Answer: "If a job ain't worth doing right, it ain't worth doing."

Thank you to all farmers and those supporting farmers for all you do to provide for us!

The goal of this program is to teach 4-Hers about the more challenging parts of different career paths. If you know of a career that should be highlighted in the future, please email Julia or Casey to let them know!
