OAR of Richmond, Inc. OAR is the leading service provider of reentry services to returning citizens in Richmond and the surrounding counties. Your patience will be appreciated.

OAR is a private, nonprofit organization whose goal is to assist clients to become productive, taxpaying members of the community. OAR provides pre-release case management services in all the area jails and post-release case management services to anyone with an adult criminal conviction. Services at the Richmond office are provided on a walk-in basis. You are required to sign in at the receptioni

st desk each time you come into the office. Due to the high number of clients coming into the office, you may have a lengthy wait to see your case manager. In order to enroll in OAR’s post-release services program, you must see a case manager who will conduct an intake interview to determine your service needs. You will be asked a number of very personal questions; answering these questions honestly will help the case manager understand your history and service needs and be better prepared to assist you. During the intake interview, you will be asked to sign a release of information which gives OAR permission to provide services to you and/or refer you to other organizations for services that are not directly provided by OAR.

On International Overdose Awareness Day, August 31, we remember every life lost to overdose and hold space for the families, friends, coworkers, and communities forever changed by those losses.
Overdose is not a moral failing. Substance use disorder is a treatable health condition, and every person deserves to be met with compassion, dignity, and access to evidence-based care.

The Richmond Reentry Council Community Resource Fair was a SUCCESS! 🎉

We are incredibly grateful to all of the vendors, organizations, and community partners who showed up to connect returning citizens and community members with valuable resources, services, and opportunities.

A special thank you to Liberation Church (Liberation Church) for generously providing the space to bring our community together, and to our partners at District 1 Probation & Parole Reentry Unit and Liberation Counseling Services for helping make this event possible.
