The Emergency Management Alliance of Central Virginia is a voluntary group of local emergency managers and partner organizations from 25 localities in Central Virginia. As neighbors and partners, we recognize that emergencies and disasters are not limited by jurisdictional boundaries. We prepare, plan, and train together, so that we can better serve the community during an emergency. The partner l

ocalities and agencies are committed to working together to make Central Virginia as prepared as it can be. The Alliance was created from the former Urban Area Working Group (UAWG) of the Central Virginia UASI. The Alliance is a forum for local emergency managers, public safety officials, federal, state, regional, private sector, higher education and non-profit partners to collaborate, coordinate and enhance emergency management and preparedness in Central Virginia. Our goal is to improve preparedness, situational awareness, and resiliency in Central Virginia and to provide a place to share ideas and lessons learned while creating strong partnerships and leveraging grant funding for regional projects.
