We loved welcoming students from the elementary school to the library this spring! 🌸

During their visits, students explored the library, learned about Summer Reading, and worked together to create a beautiful collaborative art project. Their handprint flower garden, featuring the message "A Garden of Readers," is now proudly displayed in our Youth Services Department.

Thank you to all of the students, teachers, and staff who visited us. We can't wait to see everyone back at the library this summer! 🌻

During our Summer Reading Kick-Off Open House, we’ll also be hosting a community Plant & Seed Exchange!

🌼 Bring a plant, take a plant
🌼 No need to bring anything to participate— this event is for you!
🌼 Seeds, houseplants, garden plants & cuttings welcome
🌼 Please label plants and seeds whenever possible to help everyone know what they’re taking home

Celebrate the start of Summer Reading 2026 at Nippersink Public Library on Saturday, June 13 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.!

🌱 Our Community Garden is Open! 🌱

We're excited to announce that the Nippersink Public Library Community Garden is officially growing!

What started as a collection of empty raised beds has transformed into a vibrant garden filled with vegetables, herbs, flowers, and pollinator-friendly plants. Even better, the harvest will be shared with our community! As produce becomes available, it will be placed in the library vestibule for anyone to take and enjoy.

We've also added a picnic table so visitors can relax, read, enjoy nature, or simply take a moment outside.

Stop by, take a look at what's growing, and watch the garden flourish throughout the summer. We can't wait to share the harvest with you!
