💡 Did you know? Virginia’s Payment of Wage Unit investigates complaints related to unpaid wages under state law.

These cases can be resolved informally or through formal action. When employers fail to comply, the Division may issue final orders for wages, assess civil penalties, and in some cases pursue criminal action to ensure compliance.

Understanding your rights is important and protections are in place to help workers receive the pay they’ve earned.

📢 Did you know? Boiler & Pressure Vessel safety is critical to protecting lives and property across Virginia.

The Virginia Department of Labor & Industry oversees the safe operation of boilers and pressure vessels used in businesses, schools, and facilities across the Commonwealth.

Here’s what that means:
- Equipment must meet strict safety standards and be properly constructed and registered
- Regular inspections are required to ensure safe operation
- Valid inspection certificates are mandatory to operate
- These regulations exist to prevent dangerous failures and protect workers and the public

Boilers and pressure vessels operate under high pressure— without proper oversight, they can pose serious risks. That’s why safety, compliance, and routine inspections matter.

Congratulations, MEB! They have been approved as a Virginia BEST Level 3 participant under the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry's Virginia Occupational Safety and Health (VOSH) and Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP)!

MEB is the third construction company to achieve this unique safety excellence recognition. Founded in 1982, MEB provides specialized construction services in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Virginia BEST Program (Building Excellence in Safety, Health and Training) is a strategic partnership between the VOSH Program and the Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA) designed to encourage and recognize AGCVA members who voluntarily implement highly effective safety and health management systems to benefit construction workers and reduce or eliminate injuries, illnesses and fatalities on construction sites in Virginia. All applicants must be in good standing of the Associated General Contractors of America.
