A new film series - Scene in Virginia - is shining a spotlight on Virginia filmmakers and Virginia stories.

Presented by Emmy-winning nonprofit Belltower Pictures, the series brings locally connected films to Richmond’s historic The Byrd Theatre & Foundation on the second Monday of each month. The series celebrates moviemakers whose work is rooted in the people and places of the Commonwealth, while creating opportunities for conversation and connection within Virginia’s creative community.

Each screening is followed by a discussion with the featured filmmaker. The next screening is Aug. 10, when there will be a showing of “Finding Edna Lewis" a VPM film that showcases the incredible history and culinary contributions of Virginia-born chef Edna Lewis.
