The MiX at The Science Museum of Virginia A creative hangout space for teens. Become a member to mess around with the latest technology and sign up for specialty workshops for free!

Located in the Science Museum of Virginia, The MiX is free and open to all high school students. Featuring the latest technology – including brand new Macs, GoPro Cameras and a giant Green Screen – The MiX is a space to work solo or collaborate with other students. Test out Adobe Photoshop and InDesign or meet up with one the MiX Mentors to learn more about programming, graphic arts, animation, ro

botics and more. Work on school projects, boost your computer skills or just be creative with your friends! Become a member to sign up for a specialty workshop, mess around or geek out in the lab – and don’t forget to bring your own brain. Follow The MiX on social media:

It’s that time of year again — MIX Summer 2026 is officially here ☀️

Starting June 2, The Mix will be open Tuesdays–Fridays from 11am–4:30pm all summer long with a new themed week packed with activities, projects, and experiments every week.

Drop in, hang out, learn something new, and make some cool stuff with us — whether you’re into art, games, film, music, worldbuilding, textiles, cooking, or just trying something random.

No registration, no cost, just making.
