The Virginia War Memorial Facility Rentals

The Virginia War Memorial Facility Rentals This page is for all facility rentals at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond, Virginia Paul and Phyllis Galanti Education Center in 2010.

The Virginia War Memorial was commissioned by the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1956 to honor the fallen Virginians from WWII and the Korean War. Subsequently, the names of those lost in the Vietnam War and Persian Gulf were added to our memorial walls. Over the years the Memorial soon fell into disrepair through lack of funding and public interest. Thus in 1991, a dedicated group of Trustees commit

ted to advancing the cause of freedom banded together to raise the funding to restore the Memorial. Shortly thereafter, the Virginia War Memorial Foundation was established, and in recent years the Memorial has expanded to include the 20,000 sq ft. The Center has allowed for the Foundation’s mission of honoring veterans, preserving history, and educating youth and the public, to flourish. The Foundation now boasts a national award winning film series, Virginians at War, as well as a wide array of internal and external outreach programs: events, lectures, research materials, theaters, exhibits, teacher institutes, and student seminars.
