As we close out the month, we're looking back on one of July's biggest celebrations, United Under the Stars!
Rich Township was proud to join neighboring municipalities in hosting this special event honoring America's 250th Birthday at the Olympia Fields Park District. Although severe storms the evening before presented unexpected challenges during setup, the community was welcomed with sunny skies and an unforgettable day of celebration.
Residents from across the Southland came together to enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, vendors, giveaways, games, and activities for all ages. From performances by the Fieldcrest Dance Team to bingo, domino, and Bid Whist tournaments, the event showcased the spirit of community that continues to bring our region together.
Supervisor Calvin Jordan, the Rich Township Board of Trustees, Constitutional Officers, and Township staff were honored to celebrate alongside neighboring municipalities and community partners. Rich Township also extends its appreciation to the many organizations that helped make the event possible, including Illinois State Senator Michael Hastings, Illinois State Representative Anthony DeLuca, Illinois State Representative Debbie Meyers-Martin, the City of Country Club Hills, the Villages of Flossmoor, Hazel Crest, Homewood, Matteson, Olympia Fields, Park Forest, Richton Park, Tinley Park, and University Park, and the Olympia Fields Park District.
As July comes to an end, we're grateful for moments like these that remind us of what can be accomplished through partnership, collaboration, and community. Thank you for celebrating with us; we look forward to creating even more memories together in the months ahead.
