The National Weather Service has forecasted widespread snowfall throughout the state beginning in the early hours of Tuesday (1/21/25) morning. Here are some tips on how you and your family can prepare:

🌨Monitor the weather
🏘Check on your family, friends and neighbors
🎒Replenish your emergency kit
🐾Don't forget your pets - if you are cold, they are cold

⚠️Winter Storm Update⚠️

❄️ The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy snow to impact south Mississippi beginning predawn Tuesday (1/21/2025), with up to 4" of snow for the southernmost part of the state. Central Mississippi could see anywhere from a dusting of snow up to 2" of snow.

‼️ Hazardous travel conditions are expected and travel should be avoided if at all possible on Tuesday. Even light snow amounts in these very cold temperatures will cause travel issues.

🥶Dangerous cold temperatures will continue through Wednesday night for the entire state.
