It’s go time in Richwood. Preparations has begun and we are looking at a beautiful day. Remember food will be served at 5:30 for all agencies participating in the parade and line up is at 6:30. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there.

On July 28, 2026 at approximately 19:16 the Richwood Fire Department was alerted for a minor MVA on Fenwick MTN. First unit arrived on scene at approximately 19:26 to find one vehicle overturned in the roadway. Units conducted traffic control until the vehicle was removed from the roadway. Units cleared the scene at approximately 20:11. No injuries were reported.

We would like to introduce the 2026 RVFD Flame Queen, Ms. Layla Diehl. Layla is the daughter of firefighter/paramedic Heidi Mollohan and sister of firefighter Riley Diehl. Layla will be out representing the RVFD throughout the year so if you see her out, give her a big warm congratulations. Congratulations Layla from all your RVFD family.

Join us this Friday for our annual fireman’s parade. There will be a beef, chicken and pulled pork taco bar for all agencies participating in the parade. Food starts at 5:30 and line up is at 6:30-7. There will be live entertainment and fireworks after the parade. Fireman’s parade awards will be given immediately after the parade at the firehouse. Hackworth Fire Collection will be set up at the fire station Friday and will be debuting there new ambulance. We will be set up at the firehouse selling raffle tickets starting tonight. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we will be selling our famous hotdogs from the side window of the firehouse. Stay safe and hope to see everyone there.
