State Representative Ed Butler

State Representative Ed Butler State Representative District 41 As a self employed small business man I know the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

My believe in giving back to our community and serve in several organizations to give back. Our children deserve a quality age appropriate education, not an indoctrination. I believe small government is best and that local governments should govern themselves. The government is to serve the citizens not the other way around.

Honored to celebrate a century of service. Congratulations to the members of Post 137 on reaching this historic achievement.

It was a privilege to speak today at the 100th Anniversary Celebration of American Legion Post 137 in Jamestown.

For 100 years, Post 137 has served veterans, families, and the Fentress County community while carrying forward the legacy of Sgt. Alvin C. York. I was proud to present a Tennessee House Joint Resolution recognizing this remarkable milestone and the generations of service, sacrifice, and patriotism represented by this organization.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for our veterans, and our communities.

Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day, and we must never forget the cost of that freedom.

Saturday marked the completion of Run For The Wall 2026 as all routes gathered together in Washington, D.C.

The morning began at the Lincoln Memorial where riders from across the country came together for our annual group photo. Thousands of miles, countless stories, and one united mission โ€” to honor the veterans, remember the fallen, and bring awareness to those still missing and unaccounted for.

From there, we made our way to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.

In the rain, riders quietly searched for names, placed memorial cards, touched the Wall, and remembered brothers, fathers, sons, and friends who never made it home. Some stood silently. Some shared stories. Some cried. Every name on that wall represents a life, a family, and a sacrifice made for our freedom.

Run For The Wall is far more than a motorcycle ride. It is a moving tribute across America that ensures these heroes are never forgotten. It bridges generations, educates young people about the true cost of freedom, and gives veterans, families, and Gold Star loved ones a place to heal, reflect, and be surrounded by people who understand.

For many riders, arriving at the Wall is emotional beyond words. After ten days on the road together, this mission becomes family.

Freedom is not free, and neither is remembrance. That is why we ride.

Honored to ride. Honored to remember. Until next year. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ

Day 10 of Run For The Wall is complete.

Friday Midway traveled from Smithfield, North Carolina to Ashland, Virginia โ€” our final full day of travel together before arriving in Washington, D.C.

We started the morning with our riders meeting where Outreach once again shared the biography of a soldier whose name is on the Wall. Every morning throughout this mission, riders have heard the stories behind those names. Itโ€™s a powerful reminder of why we ride โ€” say their names, honor, remember, never forget.

The route into Virginia brought rain, cold temperatures, and plenty of wet gear, but after ten days on the road, one day of rain is not too bad.

We stopped for lunch at Richmond Harley-Davidson where a warm meal and hot coffee were appreciated by everyone.

The main Midway Route visited the National Museum of the Marine Corps while the Ambassador and Outreach teams continued on to The Fairfax at Belvoir Woods in Lorton, Virginia. We spent time visiting with residents who shared incredible stories from their lives and military service.

One of the residents was a Vietnam nurse who spoke about serving under fire and caring for wounded soldiers during combat. She shared that one of the hardest parts of her service was writing letters home for injured servicemen. Hearing stories like hers puts so much into perspective.

We wrapped up the evening at the American Legion in Ashland with dinner, fellowship, and reconnecting with riders from the other Run For The Wall routes as everyone prepares to complete the mission together.

One more day.

Day 9 of Run For The Wall is complete.

Today Midway traveled from Asheville, North Carolina to Smithfield, North Carolina.

We started the morning with our riders meeting, prayer, and Kim leading everyone in the National Anthem before another day on the road.

After fuel stops along the route, Midway arrived at the Pentecostal Holiness Church โ€” always a Midway favorite. Good food, fellowship, family, friends, steak, and of course ice cream made for a great stop before getting back on the road.

The Ambassadors and Outreach teams left lunch a little early to visit the West Chatham Veterans Memorial where we took time to honor and remember the veterans whose names are memorialized there.

Midway then traveled to Falcon Childrenโ€™s Home where students and staff welcomed riders with songs and smiles. We had the honor of presenting graduating seniors with gifts from the Midway Route as they prepare for their next chapter in life.

As we continued east, the Ambassadors and Outreach teams made several stops to personally thank supporters and fire departments gathered on overpasses. A few of those stops even required climbing hillsides to reach everyone โ€” but nobody supporting this mission was going to be missed.

We wrapped up the evening with dinner provided by Bizzell Grove Pentecostal Church. Spaghetti served out of coolers somehow tasted better than most restaurant meals, and the desserts definitely did not disappoint.

Another great day on the road surrounded by good people, patriotism, and support for our veterans.

Honored to ride. Honored to serve. Honored to remember. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ

Day 8 of Run For The Wall is complete.

Wednesday morning started with an energized riders meeting as Midway prepared to visit Wilson Elementary.

Under law enforcement es**rt, Midway rolled into the school with students chanting โ€œUSAโ€ and waving flags. The students and staff had an incredible program prepared honoring our military, veterans, and country. Kim and I were also able to spend time with our pen pal, Emilly Anderson. Seeing her each year has become one of our favorite traditions along the route.

After leaving Wilson Elementary School, Midway headed to the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial at Worldโ€™s Fair Park in Knoxville where riders participated in a wreath laying ceremony before lunch. At the same time, the Ambassadors and Outreach teams visited the Ben Atchley Tennessee State Veteransโ€™ Home. We had the opportunity to spend time with several residents, including one veteran known as โ€œRicky Bobby,โ€ who shared his love of motorcycles along with his photo albums and stories from over the years.

Our final fuel stop of the day was in Hartford, Tennessee where the Amoco Station once again blessed Midway with complimentary fuel and ice cream โ€” always a favorite stop for the route.

We wrapped up the evening at Harley-Davidson of Asheville where riders were treated to dinner while the service department worked hard taking care of motorcycles and helping keep everyone safely on the road.

Another full day of honoring veterans, building friendships, and seeing patriotism alive across America.

Honored to ride. Honored to serve. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ๏ธ
