Today was a GREAT day! Standing along side many who have encouraged and helped drive the effort to restore our community pool, we watched our City Council and the Pinney family raise a shovel and officially begin the construction to restore our community pool!

The Sgt. John Pinney Aquatics Center will open in Summer 2027!!!

Thank you to the staff of City of Ridgecrest and the Ridgecrest City Council for following through on the promise to our community to rebuild Pinney Pool.

The shovels have been turned, the equipment ordered, and now the construction begins......stay tuned!

I wanted to take a moment and thank the City of Ridgecrest Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Ridgecrest staff for an incredible evening last Friday. The smiles on the children and the joy of the season was everywhere!

Thank you to Congressman Vince Fong for your continued efforts to support the Mission at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake! The design and construction of a new Child Development Center is critical to the future recruiting efforts of the base.

Additionally, the "Joint Explanatory Statement Language: Improving Health Care Access for Navy Personnel at NAWS China Lake" provides critical framework to address the need for "world-class" healthcare in our community. Ensuring that we can recruit and retain the civilian workforce which is dedicated to the success of the warfighter is critical to the long term success of our community.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Vince Fong (CA-20) voted to pass the final version of the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act (FY26 NDAA) (S. 1071), which would deliver vital resources to our local military installations, their personnel, and surrounding communities.

Over the past week, I have been posting again as I am trying to get a sense of what the community wants. For the record, , is a play on "Bring Back Bruen 2026" as many have guessed. However, it is not a commitment to run for public office again.

I LOVED my time of service to this community and would be happy to serve again. But being elected is not about what I want but rather what the voters want. I respect that and I lost.

The challenge is that respect is now lost in the current political climate. Everyone now assumes that elected citizens are out to get something for themselves in the process. Despite what the trolls may say, I got nothing from my service except the personal fulfillment of helping Ridgecrest grow and an $1,100 paycheck a month.

But in exchange, I have seen my name dragged through the mud on social media. I have seen people attack my family and engage in childish antics. So, right now, I do not know what my future is.

is a message and a signal. I think I did a pretty good job as Mayor. I know others felt this way but a majority in the last election did not. I have seen friends hang on too long in Ridgecrest politics and it simply become a bitter experience. So, I am not sure right now. But, maybe if I start seeing I'll know better what my future holds.

Got a chance to spread some "Thanksgiving" blessings last night with the Salvation Army Ridgecrest CA. I feel truly blessed to run an organization that understands giving back to the community. This is the leftovers from the Desert Valleys FCU 1st Annual Turkey Drop!

After five years of effort, the support of our community, and the tireless push of city staff.......

CONSTRUCTION ON THE NEW SGT. PINNEY POOL WILL BEGIN JANUARY 2026!

The project is approved and construction should begin with 45 days with an 18 month lead time.

I encourage the City Staff and construction teams to work as quickly and as efficiently as possible to ensure that the pool is open for the Summer of 2027!

If you have never spent an evening with the Desert Community Orchestra Association then you are missing out. This is a wonderful Ridgecrest tradition. Dress up in your favorite ugly sweater and take your family for an evening of music, warmth, and holiday cheer.
