Earlier this week, the fourth cohort of students were inducted into the Ridgefield STEM Academy. We are so proud of their work in middle school and look forward to seeing them at RMHS this fall! Congratulations to our inductees!

Yesterday, our AP students went on a field trip to Rutgers University and the Sampled laboratory in Piscataway. At Rutgers, the students learned about genetic counseling and spoke with researchers about their genetics experiments. They even got to learn about the effects of Ozempic on microscopic roundworms! At Sampled, students learned how the first FDA emergency-approved COVID saliva test was created. They saw a world-renowned biorepository which stores millions of samples of DNA, proteins, and tissues for the NIH and a variety of foundations. The students remarked that it was exciting to see first-hand the topics that they have been learning about in their STEM classes at Ridgefield Memorial High School.

Our FBLA members represented Ridgefield very well this week down in Atlantic City at the FBLA State Leadership Conference. Three of our members placed in the top 10 in their events. Patrick Jo was a finalist in Public Policy and Advocacy, Joel Yeo was a finalist in Business Management, and Nicole Kotchman was a finalist and placed 2nd in Client Service! For the second year in a row Nicole will be representing Ridgefield Memorial High School at Nationals! We are unbelievably proud of all of our members for the hard work they put into their events and their performance at States.

DECA 2024 - What a whirlwind of success at the State Career Development Conference in Atlantic City! We're thrilled to announce that two of our outstanding students, Joel Yeo and Nicoletta Amato, have clinched spots in the top 6 in their respective events, propelling them to the prestigious DECA International Career Development Conference! Joel secured an impressive third place in Retail Merchandising, while Nicoletta excelled, claiming fourth in Personal Financial Literacy. But the accolades don't stop there – big congratulations to Ayman Baba and Jake Barrera for their stellar performances, earning well-deserved recognition in their events too!

This afternoon, 17 students were accepted into the second cohort of the Ridgefield Business Academy. These juniors have worked hard and learned so much in their high school business classes. Next year, in addition to their normal schoolwork, they will participate in an internship at a location that interests them. Some of these students will also represent Ridgefield at the state DECA and FBLA competitions this March. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Recently, students in our Business Academy participated in the DECA and FBLA state competitions. We are so proud to say that five of our students have made it to nationals!!!

Ayman Baba, Sara Prtoric, and Nicoletta Amato were accepted for DECA; Nicole Kotchman and Patrick Jo were accepted for FBLA. Good luck at nationals!

Congratulations to all our students who competed and to their teachers, Mr. Polifrone and Mr. Carozza!
