Connecticut families are being squeezed from every direction: higher utility bills, higher grocery costs, higher housing costs, and one of the highest tax burdens in the nation. Yet Hartford Democrats just approved a $28.6 billion state budget while pushing spending nearly $1 billion over the state spending cap.
These decisions are not made in a vacuum. Our state representatives and senators are elected to represent the people of Danbury and fight for affordability, fiscal discipline, and responsible government. Instead, Connecticut residents continue to see bigger government, more spending, and policies that make it harder to live, work, and raise a family here. Our local reps and senator failed all of Danbury and it’s why we are running a great slate of candidates to represent you, not special interests in Hartford.
Danbury taxpayers deserve lawmakers who understand that every dollar the state spends ultimately comes from the hardworking people of Connecticut. Families are being forced to make tough financial decisions every day. Hartford should be doing the same.
The Danbury Republican Town Committee believes Connecticut needs responsible budgeting, lower taxes, economic growth, and policies that make our state more affordable, not more expensive. Residents deserve representation that puts taxpayers first and fights for real fiscal accountability.
